Feral Cop Gone Wild! (Again!)

It is just amazing…. when cops are not shooting dogs (their own and others),cows, veterans just off a midnight job shift, other cops and law enforcement or threatening teenagers, Concealed Carry Citizens, pedestrians, physically or mentally impaired individuals…. they walk into volatile situations as a complete menace to themselves and others before a single shot has been fired! Today’s example, a SWAT Cop (those guys…. the highly trained, highly practiced special Super Cops who regular Cops call to do the heavy lifting) with a visibly non-functional rifle deployed in real time!

How is it possible to know the rifle is not ready for use? Because a very distinctive easily identified sight is mounted backwards. If anyone had bothered just once to look through the sight for a moment they would have known something was wrong. Immediately. We can only hope when that moment finally comes, presumably in the heat of a firefight, the officer will have the wisdom to hold his fire.

Nobody up or down the chain of command told him to get lost before he hurt someone, or questioned his preparation in the days, weeks or months leading up to the crisis, or even thought to tell anyone up or down the chain of command!

How many hunt clubs or target ranges would summarily remove an ordinary citizen who had a loaded rifle with a sight installed backwards demonstrating to one and all it had never even been dry fired?

This was NOT a simple mistake. It was, in fact, a very complicated one. Besides the reversed sight installation, the rifle was never inspected at a muster, it was never fired at a range, it was never adjusted for maximum performance by ANYONE, let alone the officer who carried it as his issue weapon.

Good Trigger Discipline circa 1961

Seven year old Child Actor Bill Mumy put all the usual Hollywood ignorami to shame in this 1961 Mattel Commercial when he demonstrated excellent pistol handling and trigger discipline! Watch the Youtube video carefully. The little tyke fires the pistol and makes a conscious effort to keep his finger out of the trigger guard.

Long ago and far away I had an opportunity to talk to an old man, a survivor of WWII and
a member of the Axis Conscript Army from one of those little roll over countries of Eastern Europe – you know, Poland, Romania, Hungary et.al.

I asked him what he made of his experience in the 20th Century?

He answered in one word: “Amazement”.

Debt Ceiling Fight And Guns

Hardly noticed or reported elsewhere, Gunowners of America has this analysis of the link between gunowners and the debt ceiling fight:

Excerpt:

* Obama has begun to implement the first stages of ObamaCare to create a national medical database, which would be trolled by ATF to suspend the gun rights of tens of millions of Americans;

* ATF used its Fast and Furious operation (funded with $10 million from the stimulus bill) to put guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartels, ostensibly for the purpose of passing more gun control in Washington;

* ATF has moved forward on its illegal regulations to require the registry of multiple sales of many long guns; and

* ATF has moved forward on its efforts to impose an import ban on shotguns.

Now the bill has come due, and Barack Obama is trying to borrow $2 trillion to pay for his anti-gun agenda.

He cannot be allowed to succeed, unless the deal blocks the $2 trillion from being used to pursue ObamaCare and an anti-gun agenda.

In this respect, Congressman and presidential candidate Michele Bachmann (R-MN) has been a true hero. She has stood up, frequently alone, to oppose any debt limit deal that would allow the money to be used to implement the anti-gun ObamaCare law. This is a critical bottom line for gun owners.

Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) has also spoken out against a deal to raise the debt limit, spearheading a drive that gets other congressmen to sign a “Cut, Cap, and Balance” pledge.

The bottom line is this: The U.S. isn’t going to default on its debt, because, without borrowing a penny, federal tax income will be over ten times the amount necessary to pay interest on the debt. Similarly, there will be enough money to pay social security, Medicare, defense, and veterans.

But, if the debt limit is not renewed, there will not be enough money for ObamaCare and anti-gun regulations. And, frankly, this means that Republicans negotiating with Barack Obama have all the cards in their hands.

For them to bungle these negotiations and allow Obama to borrow in order to fund ObamaCare would be disastrous.

ACTION: Contact your congressman. Demand that he or she votes to cut spending by defunding anti-gun ObamaCare.

Old proverb: Man with one gun know EXACTLY how to fire his weapon, man with two guns not quite sure……

I like this guy. He did everything well and conducted himself calmly and honorably.

Weapons are not toys, not for relaxation or sport or entertainment, but tools to be treated with utmost respect and caution which have but one purpose: to harm some critter- with four or two legs- before they harm you.
