Mayhem In West Memphis

Something squirrely occurred in West Memphis, Arkansas about ten days ago after two Police Officers were killed during a traffic stop.

Since the subsequent pursuit involved multiple legal jurisdictions which included a Wildlife Enforcement Officer various accounts of the incident have appeared on BOTH Hunting and RKBA Blogs.

Was it a justified traffic stop? Is dashboard camera video missing or suppressed? Did the Police react with excessive force?

Our favorite Blogger- Anthony G. Martin of The Liberty Sphere picks up the story in his capacity as Conservative Examiner.

Yes, He Wants To Return To Law Enforcement!

This is beyond outrage.

If you live in Farm Country and even think anything like this occurs in your vicinity, you better step up and clean it up now.

Otherwise it just fuels the Bolshevik lust for totally berserk control over all things great or small.

A man like this is truly a danger to himself and others.

QDMA Should Boycott Marriott!

Recently, one of David Codrea’s Legion Of Gun Rights Examiners uncovered overt corporate hostility from the Marriott Hotel Chain to the Right To Keep And Bear Arms EVEN AS THEY BENEFITED FROM THE NRA CONVENTION in Charlotte, NC and presumably made a handsome sum from Convention Bookings.

Now comes the Quality Deer Management Association Banquet in Louisville, KY hosted by the Louisville Marriott in July.

Should hunters and gunowners actively pay good money to a corporation with a publicly demonstrated hostility to the interests and activities of their patrons?

I think not.

Anonymity: An American Tradition

Famous Anonymous Actor Marion Mitchell Morrison Known as John Wayne

For the third time in as many days Frank W. James has posted on the topic of “interweb anonymity” on his blog. (Click Link HERE)

In his most recent reflection he kindly included some of my observations about the nature of Anonymous Constitutional Debate and concluded with a question:

What did they (the anonymous ones) achieve when compared against those who stood tall, identified themselves and in some cases literally put their necks in a noose by taking OWNERSHIP (sic) of what they wrote?

While I cannot imagine exactly how a burr got under Mr. James’ saddle on this topic I have frequently been bemused by Internet discussions of anonymity vs. honor and integrity and believe a heartfelt question deserves a reasoned response.

The High Price Of Defenselessness

Youtube Link:

Colonel Jeff Cooper retired in Arizona and traveled with an open carry 1911 everywhere. He was 86 when he died.

It is hard to imagine anyone of any age would even attempt to inflict this level of injury upon him without fear of serious and immediate retaliation.

If you are too old to run and too outnumbered to wrestle, teach respect with the tools available to men in your station of life.
“The society of late twentieth century America is perhaps the first in human history where most grown men do not routinely bear arms on their persons and boys are not regularly raised from childhood to learn skill in the use of some kind of weapon, either for community or personal defense – club or spear, broadsword or long bow, rifle or Bowie knife.

It also happens to be one of the rudest and crudest societies in history, having jubilantly swept most of the etiquette of speech, table, dress, hospitality, fairness, deference to authority and the relations of male and female and child and elder under the fraying and filthy carpet of politically convenient illusions.

With little fear of physical reprisal Americans can be as loud, gross, disrespectful, pushy, and negligent as they please.

If more people carried rapiers at their belts, or revolvers on their hips, It is a fair bet you would be able to go to a movie and enjoy he dialogue from the screen without having to endure the small talk, family gossip and assorted bodily noises that many theater audiences these days regularly emit.

Today, discourtesy is commonplace precisely because there is no price to pay for it.”

Ted Nugent? Sarah Palin? Can You Hear This Now?

Just in time for the NRA Convention in Charlotte NC, May 14th, the legendary Aaron Zelman over at JPFO continues his twenty year tradition of cranking out the good stuff.

Two excellent thoughtful open letters to two major figures in the 2nd Amendment community- Ted Nugent and Sarah Palin. If you have not had time to read them,

Mr. Zelman, if I have not said it often enough in the past, let me say it now again: Many thanks for all the work you do. Your tireless efforts are an inspiration for all of us.

Feral Cops: They Shot The Dog! Again!

Watch this video at your peril. You will rethink every good thought you ever had about Modern Compliance Enforcement Officers (MCEO).

Yes, they shot the dog. Again and again and again. As the crackshots they invariably are, it took four rounds to complete the task. They probably practiced a tactical reload as well, just to be sure.
