Plaques will commemorate the careers of Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods at this year’s Memorial Day observance, 2 p.m. May 27 at the Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial, 6905 La Jolla Scenic Drive South.
Assigned to a security detail in Benghazi, Libya, Doherty, of Encinitas, and Woods, of Imperial Beach, were killed in action when they served above and beyond the call of duty in a terrorist attack that began on Sept. 11, 2012.
