Notorious FBI Sniper and ultimate faceless bureaucrat Lon Horiuchi is in the 2008 HS Precision Catalog praising their products and apparently on the payroll as some type of consultant.
In our photographed, fingerprinted, DNA Registered, Social Security Number world, there is NO publicly extant current photograph of a Government Employee who killed an unindicted, unarraigned, untried Woman, Wife and Mother as she held her infant in a remote mountain cabin.
No perp walk picture, no driver’s license photo, no conference attendee publicity pictures, nothing.

I’ve been following this from the start, and there are some common misconceptions. We need to be clear so that our position is credible.
HS-Precision did not hire Horiuchi. He was the program manager on a contract they were awarded. He wrote a letter praising their product performance which they used on their ’08 catalog.
That’s enough for me to not give them a dime, but again, we need to stay accurate.
Also, Horiuchi was never acquitted. The Boundary County prosecutor dismissed the case–coincidentally while he had felony forgery charges hanging over his head. A synopsis with supporting historical links is in the WoG link you provided.

The language of the “testimonial” as it is reproduced from the HS Precision Catalog on the Internet is the language of a “celebrity endorsement”.
The writer,Lon Horiuchi, summarizes his qualifications, describes for the reader background circumstances of his experience with HS Precision Rifles and uses rather exuberant terms to describe their products – “pound for pound” -“off-the-shelf rifle”. In another words it was a letter specifically written for the purpose for which it was used, not some file report acquired under the Freedom of Information Act.
If it is your contention Mr. Horiuchi did not directly receive a paycheck with an embossed HS Precision Logo, you may have a point.
But if it is your contention Mr. Horiuchi had no knowledge his comments would appear in the catalog and did not in some fashion receive reciprocal quid pro quo benefit from the use of his name I can only offer my extreme skepticism.
Whether the product is Vinyl Replacement Windows or Upper Tier Luxury Cars there is rarely more than a token “arms length” transaction involved when celebrities endorse a product. HS Precision published that letter for the express purpose of financial gain. They sought to reassure potential customers of the value of their products.
If you force my hand, I will retreat to the time tested dodge that a reasonably knowledgable person who read that catalog page could arguably conclude Lon Horiuchi acted in the capacity of Official SpokesMonster for HS Precision. Misperception or not, such are the vagaries of poorly conceived Marketing and Public Relations Campaigns.

I have no idea why you made this comment. I never alleged Horiuchi was or was not acquitted. I linked to the War On Guns comments because I understand your due diligence in these matters is generally impeccable.
