In case there was any doubt, AARP does in fact regurgitate Sarah Brady Gun Control Talking Points on their website.

Two Tantalizing Gems (from previous website pages now removed):

proper storage
Firearms should always be stored unloaded and separate from ammunition. The firearm and ammunition should both be locked away and out of reach of children.

check with neighbors
Even if your own home is free of firearms, your child may visit another home where firearms are kept. Always check with neighbors, friends, and relatives to make sure they safely store their firearms, out of reach of children.

The Sickening Text Excerpt:

But to make the nation safer, we must do what we can to keep guns out of hands of children and criminals. AARP supported the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, which went into law in 1994 with bi-partisan support, but was allowed to expire this year.

AARP supports measures to eliminate firearm possession by juveniles, convicted domestic abusers and those under domestic violence restraining orders.

  1. To be fair to AARP, the page linked to was clearly NOT written by/for the AARP, it’s generic health information ‘branded’ by the AARP web site. The bottom of the firearms page reads:

This article has been licensed by Healthline from Thomson-GALE…

    • An old dodge that does not alter the fact AARP spends license fee money from membership dues and elsewhere to promote a political agenda.

There is nothing generic or healthy about the advice posted or reposted or licensed or otherwise deflected.

As documented on this blog and elsewhere Guns Save Lives.

They even save the lives of children.

Update: In honor of your post I will include a screenshot and link to their “gun control” statement
